There are many opportunities to receive prayer or to join the Prayer
Team at Effort. We offer frequent times of prayer to allow every member
of our community to come at a time that is convenient to individual
schedules of work or school. All ages are
welcome to join us during any of our prayer times.
We are inspired by God's promise in 2 Chronicles
7:14, "If my people, who are called by my name, will
humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their
wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven and I will forgive their sins
and will heal their land."
Prayer Mondays
Every Monday morning, from
6:00-8:00 a.m., members of the Prayer Team
are available at the Family Life Center
portico to bless members of our community on their way to
work or school. What a beautiful way to start your week! If you would
like to BE a blessing, come join the Prayer Team on Monday mornings. If
you would like to RECEIVE a blessing, simply drive up to the portico
and we will be available to pray for specific needs or to simply ask
the Lord to bless your week. During cold weather, Prayer Team members
are standing just inside the doors to the Family Life Center. When you
drive up, we will come out and pray for you.
Daily Morning Prayer
Weekday mornings, Tuesdays through Fridays,
members of the Prayer Team meet in the Family Life Center
Chapel from 6:30-7:30 a.m. The
small outside door to the left of the portico leads directly into the
Chapel. If you need special prayer for a challenging circumstance in
your life, a health problem, or to intercede for a family member, we
will be happy to pray for you. Or, come and join the Prayer Team. We
are praying for the needs of our church, community, nation and world.
We welcome anyone who would like to join us.
"We can never expect to grow in the likeness of our Lord unless we
follow His example and give more time to communion with the Father. A
revival of real praying would produce a spiritual revolution."

Weekend Prayer
Every Saturday and Sunday, members of the
Prayer team gather in the Family Life Center
Chapel from 8:00-9:00 a.m. to
prepare hearts for our worship services and to pray specifically for
our Leadership. We welcome anyone from the community who wants to come
by for prayer -- for healing, for help with life's circumstances, and
to intercede for others. The outside door to the Chapel will be open,
and all are welcome to join us.
Quarterly Prayer Vigils
Effort held its first churchwide Day of
Blessing on March 17, 2006 -- when every ministry and
participants in ministries were blessed throughout the day. Preschool
children brounght in a prayer card that they had created with help from
their family, and members of the Prayer Team blessed each child and
prayed with them for the needs on the cards. Leadership, Staff members,
workers, and the children in the afterschool program were also blessed.
The day concluded with a Praise and Worship service at 7:00 p.m. The
Prayer Team hopes to make this an annual event.
Effort held a 24-hour Prayer and Fasting
Vigil from 7:00 p.m. on October 13 through 7:00 p.m. on
October 14, 2006. The prayer vigil focused on listening to God for
future direction, praying for guidance for the Build the Future 2
campaign, and praying for every prayer card, every member of the Effort
Family in the Church Directory and every visitor. Prayer stations were
arranged in the Family Life Center Chapel to encourage intimacy with
the Father. The Prayer Team hopes to make vigils like this one a
regular quarterly offering.
We are a church that believes, "There is
nothing that makes us love a man so much as praying for him."
