Fall 2007
Update
Keenagers and friends are invited to sort cards for the Fluvanna Women's
Correctional Center on Wednesdays from 9:30 to 12 in the
Family Life Center Chapel, during the months of Sept., Oct. and Nov. Other
volunteers from the churches in our county will be helping with this card
sorting project.
The
occasional cards, Christmas cards, and stamps are donated by
individuals, organizations, and churches here in Virginia. There are 1250
inmates that will receive a bag of cards on Tuesday, December 4. Each bag
will have approximately fifty cards and fifteen postage
stamps.
Helpers are welcomed to give a hand with this mission project any
Wednesday in the FLC chapel.
Future events scheduled for the Keenagers and friends will be a potluck
luncheon after church in the Fellowship Hall on October 28. Come and
celebrate your birthday for this year of 2007.
The
date has not been scheduled yet, but plans are being made to have Christmas
Dinner at Rev. David and Leanne's house in December.
Future Outreach Projects:
(Nov-Dec) Baking pies to raise money for the MACAA Food
Pantry.
(Nov) Baking cookies for Fluvanna Christian Service "Happy Face"
event.

The first Keenager activity for 2007 will be a Valentine Potluck after church

join everyone for lunch. Entertainment will be provided by David and Leanne
Clay.
The Keenage Mission Project is to sort Christmas and occasional cards for the
women at the Fluvanna County Correctional Facility. Cards are donated by church
congregations throughout Virginia and stored at Effort. After the Keenagers
sort and package the cards, the inmates receive them in December.
Watch the church bulletin for future movies in the sanctuary. Bring a sack
lunch and enjoy the morning with friends. Popcorn, drinks and desserts will be
provided. (Admission: Bring a canned good for the food pantry.)
Last year, the barbecue and jewelry party provided funds to pay for a youth
scholarship and for three Fluvanna Christian Service Vouchers.

Here's a photo of the Keenagers who went on a trip to see
the National D-Day Memorial at Bedford last year:
